Carla Morphett – President
I am a Solicitor in the Family Team at Leathes Prior Solicitors. I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 and went on to study the LPC at Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge. As President of the NNJLD, it is my responsibility to oversee the running of the Division and to pull all the committee members together as a team. Whether you are interested in becoming a committee member or attending events, the NNJLD is a great way to meet other like-minded young lawyers so please do get involved.
Hayley Mortlock – Vice President
I am a Trainee Solicitor at Hatch Brenner LLP where I started my Training Contract in September 2015. Prior to that I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2013 and completed my Legal Practice Course at Kaplan Law School in London. As Vice President, my role is to support the President and the rest of the Committee in the running of the division and organising events. I am looking forward to working closely alongside all of the Committee members and seeing existing and future members at the upcoming NNJLD events.
Alex Hacking – Website & Communications Representative
I am a Trainee Solicitor at Spire Solicitors LLP where I started my training contract in July 2015. Prior to that I graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2014, and completed my LPC at BPP Cambridge. As Website & Communications Representative, it is my job to make sure that all our members are kept informed about our upcoming events. Sam Sutton – Treasurer & Education Officer
I am currently a Trainee Solicitor at Mills & Reeve LLP. I graduated with a degree in Law and French Law and Language from the University of East Anglia in 2014 and completed my LPC at BPP Cambridge. After working as a music teacher and administrator for 2 years, I began my training contract in September 2016. As NNJLD Treasurer & Education Officer, my role is to manage the Division’s finances and support the rest of the committee in putting on a range of events. Kate Melton – Social Secretary
I am currently a Paralegal in the Commercial Litigation team at Howes Percival LLP, having graduated with a law degree from Newcastle University in 2015. As NNJLD Social Secretary, it is my duty to put on various events throughout the social calendar and, perhaps most importantly, to ensure that you all have a good time! Seeing as my role centres around you, I am always open to your suggestions, opinions and feedback (no matter how big or small). Lucy Mitchell – National Representative & Regional Relations Officer
I am a Trainee Solicitor at Mills & Reeve LLP. I graduated from Kings College London in 2013, and went on to study the GDL and LPC at Kaplan Law School in London. I started my training contract in September 2015. As National Representative & Regional Relations Officer, I’m responsible for representing the NNJLD at national meetings, and also for corresponding with various other local organisations.
