NNJLD Committee Position Available

We are pleased to announce that the Norwich and Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division (NNJLD) is looking for a new Social Secretary, so if you’re interested in representing Junior Lawyers in the Norwich and Norfolk area, we’d love to hear from you!

Social Secretary

Your main responsibilities will be to organise the various JLD social events throughout the year.  These include the Christmas Quiz, an event in or around February, assisting the Vice President with organising the NNJLD Annual Ball and a further event in or around September.  Previous experience coordinating and organising social events is desirable, but by no means essential as support and guidance will be given. Additional duties will include attending committee meetings and providing general support to the rest of the committee.

This is an excellent opportunity to boost your CV and network with other lawyers in the region.

The NNJLD is a local branch of the National Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) which is part of the Law Society. The JLD was set up to provide support, advise and provide information and networking opportunities. The NNJLD is your representative in the area and our National Representative attends national JLD meetings where the JLD implements policies on your behalf through lobbying and campaigning.

The NNJLD is a community for your needs and represents all student members enrolled with the Law Society, trainees, and solicitors with up to 5 years’ PQE. We also welcome members who are paralegals and legal executives. The NNJLD hold regular events for you to meet other junior lawyers, attend training events and voice your concerns and opinions.

In order to apply for a position on the NNJLD Committee you must be either an LPC student (current or past), a trainee or solicitor up to 5 years’ PQE, a legal executive or a paralegal (PLEASE note, you must be registered with the SRA you will be if you have already done the LPC or you voluntarily enrolled at the start of this academic year).  If you wish to nominate yourself for the position on the committee please e-mail norwichandnorfolkjld@gmail.com before 5pm on Friday 6th November 2015 with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your firm/organisation
  • Your current status e.g. paralegal, trainee, solicitor up to 5 years PQE, and
  • A brief description of why you are the one for the job

The successful applicant will be announced shortly after the deadline.

We look forward to hearing from you.
