Former Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service, Sir Keir Starmer, QC, is to give Norfolk Community Law Service’s Annual Public Lecture this year. His topic is “A criminal justice system fit for victims?”
The lecture will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 6pm, at the Julian Study Centre lecture theatre, Chancellor’s Drive, University of East Anglia, and will be followed by refreshments.
The event is a fund-raiser for Norfolk Community Law Service, which provides free legal advice and in some cases representation on a range of issues, and is seeing a continuing rise in requests for help as legal aid cuts bite. Their weekly free legal advice sessions are run through the generous pro bono work of many local solicitors.
Tickets are £10, £8 for NCLS members and concessions, £3 for students.
