NNJLD Committee Position Available

We are pleased to announce that the Norwich and Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division (NNJLD) is looking for a new Social Secretary, so if you’re interested in representing Junior Lawyers in the Norwich and Norfolk area, we’d love to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Social Secretary

Your main responsibilities will be to organise the various JLD social events throughout the year.  These include the Christmas Quiz, an event in or around February, assisting the Vice President with organising the NNJLD Annual Ball and a further event in or around September.  Previous experience coordinating and organising social events is desirable, but by no means essential as support and guidance will be given. Additional duties will include attending committee meetings and providing general support to the rest of the committee.

This is an excellent opportunity to boost your CV and network with other lawyers in the region. Continue reading

Cocktail Masterclass @ The Library – Thursday 1 October 6:30pm

cocktailsWe are pleased to announce that the next NNJLD event to take place this year is going to be a Cocktail Masterclass at The Library, 4A Guildhall Hill, Norwich, NR2 1JH on Thursday 1 October. Arrive anytime from 5:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

Tickets are only £10 per person which will include a hands-on cocktail making demonstration and two drinks vouchers for each attendee which will be redeemable at the bar.

This event is likely to be popular and there are a limited number of tickets available (which will be sold on a first come first served basis). To reserve a place please email cmorphett@leathesprior.co.uk

To confirm your space, payment must be made in advance by bank transfer or by handing the cash or a cheque to one of the Committee members.

Cheques should be made payable to “Norwich and Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division”.

Bank transfers should be made to the NNJLD Barclays bank account, details of which are available on request.

If you are making payment by bank transfer can you please ensure that you give your name as the payment reference, so that we can easily identify who has made the payment.

NNJLD Annual Ball & After Party 2015

We are pleased to announce that the Norwich & Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division Annual Ball is going to take place on Friday 12 June 2015 and will be held in the Weston Room at Norwich Cathedral, The Chapter Office, 65 The Close, Norwich, NR1 4DH. Arrive at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm sit down meal.

Tickets are £35 per person which will include:

Magna Carta Events

Magna Carta 2To celebrate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, the Norwich and Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division are co-hosting a number of events with the Norfolk and Norwich Law Society.

The first of these events is going to be a lecture delivered by Stephen Bowen, Director of the British Institute of Human Rights, at the Council Chamber, City Hall, Norwich on Tuesday 3 March 2015 at 7:30pm. Admission is free to NNJLD members and light refreshments will be provided.

The second event is going to be a lecture delivered by Professor Nicholas Vincent, Professor of Medieval History, University of East Anglia, at the Council Chamber, City Hall, Norwich on Monday 16 March 2015 at 6:00pm. Admission is free to NNJLD members.

Wine Tasting @ The Wine Cellar – Thursday 5 March 6pm

WineWe are pleased to announce that the next JLD event to take place this year is going to be a Wine Tasting Evening at The Wine Cellar, 8 Guildhall Hill, Norwich, NR2 1JG on Thursday 5 March 2015. Arrive at 5:30pm for a 6pm start.

Platform 12We are pleased to announce that the next NNJLD event to take place this year is going to be a Christmas Quiz at Platform 12, 12 St Benedicts Street, Norwich, NR2 4AG on Thursday 4 December. Arrive at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. You may arrive earlier if you wish.

Tickets are only £5 per person which will include a quiz with prizes, a buffet and a free drink. Teams of 4 people are preferable but this is flexible. Teams can be formed on the night for those attending alone. Continue reading
